Our Story

We are a group of dancers who get together to teach and learn from each other, all while growing our community, friendships, and skill in a dance we’re all passionate about.

Our History

After 2019 Camp Hollywood, a group of dancers got together to create a space where we could learn from and teach each other while raising the community, building friendships, and developing our skills. Led by Alina Lusebrink and Yoni Magallanes, they soon began strategizing on developing an idea of what Rags 2 Rhythm meant to each of them and what it would mean to the community. Soon we as a community began teaching at local venues, hosting workshops, and organizing dance events.

Emma McAllister, Freddy Artist & Co

Our updated design keeps the same inclusive spirit as before, now with refreshed figures radiating Frankie flair! Emma nailed it—no surprise, since as a dancer, she truly gets it!

Emma McAllister has been making art since her toddler hands could grasp crayons; she was lucky to study from wonderful teachers at The Art Academy in St. Paul, Minnesota. She works primarily in watercolors, acrylics, oils, and gouache, depicting mostly dogs, people, and the great outdoors.

Emma stumbled into Lindy Hop in 2016 while in college and has been hooked ever since! She has helped teach swing dancing throughout Washington and has waged a steady battle to get all her friends and family to try. She loves learning more about the stories and original creators of this incredible dance and strives to honor them in her work as a dancer, teacher, and artist.

Then,

and now!
